Website Redesign: Green Barn
The Green Barn is a family-owned produce market in Lynden, Washington. The purpose of this website is to showcase everything the Green Barn offers the local community.
Course: WWU
Task: Revamp a local business’s website to adhere to design principles. Students were told to leave the website as close to the original as possible including the structure and key layout elements.
Guidelines: Includes designing an icon having to do with the chosen location, use of customized typography, and use of 1-4 colors.
The Challenge: Green Barn’s current website violates the concept of selective attention and the figure-ground Gestalt principle.
The Goal: Revamp a local business’s website to adhere to design principles.
Target Users: Current and potential users.
My Role: I was responsible for the visual redesign portion of this group project.
Responsibilities: Design within the project guidelines.
Revisiting: I decided to revisit this project after the course was complete. The left design was done five months after the middle design.
